We have a family tradition where everyone gets the same Christmas present. Although, there is one simple rule: the present must be handmade. Each year, we try to come up with an idea of a gift that would suit everyone in the extended family – young and old. And this is the trickiest part of this fun tradition.
One year, we decided to make cozy slippers for everyone. It wasn’t easy – there were a few arguments and lots of trial and error involved. The first pair was made of synthetic felt because we could buy it in a local store. The whole family loved the slippers. People outside our family started asking about them, so we decided to make more pairs. We continued to improve and refine our design, trying out different materials until we discovered the magic of wool felt. This unique and airy material is incredibly skin-friendly, which is essential for a wearable product like slippers.
Our online journey began in 2014 when we decided to open our very own online shop. Despite having no experience with online marketing, we were eager to learn and try something new. We designed and custom-built the website within our family, and we were immensely proud of it. However, our excitement was short-lived…
When we first opened our online shop in 2014, we were excited to share our handmade slippers with the world. However, as newcomers to the world of e-commerce, we quickly realized that getting traffic to our website was easier said than done. With a limited advertising budget, we knew we needed to get creative.
That’s when we discovered Etsy — a vibrant marketplace for all things handmade. We promptly set up a shop and started listing our slippers, not really knowing what to expect. To our delight, orders started pouring in, and we found a whole community of people who appreciated our passion for handcrafted goods.
Despite our success on Etsy, our website still struggled to gain traction. Consequently, we redirected visitors to our Etsy shop, a decision that proved to be invaluable. We spent several successful years building our business on Etsy. However, as our business grew, we desired greater control over our online presence. Hence, we decided to build a webshop on the Pattern platform, also run by Etsy.
In 2022, we decided it was finally time to design our own webpage. If you’re reading this, it means we’ve successfully launched it.
We’ve worked hard to create a user-friendly platform that enhances your shopping experience and helps you find the perfect product to match your needs. We’re not just about making sales – we want you to feel appreciated and valued as a customer, making it our top priority to demonstrate the love and effort we put into creating our products.
